Russ Daniel isn't new to selling cars. In fact, he has spent the last 27 years in the automotive industry. Russ Daniel and his family relocated to Northwest Arkansas eight years ago to be the General Manager at the Landers McLarty Ford, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and Nissan dealerships in Bentonville. Russ became the managing partner with Franklin and Mack McLarty at the Landers-McLarty dealerships in Bentonville. This milestone in Russ' career has also been a turning point for the automotive dealership that he now leads on a day-to-day basis. Officially renamed as of July 1, McLarty-Daniel Automotive promises to provide the same great service and community involvement that customers have come to know and expect. Russ also hopes that this name change will be less about him and more about the people he works with who strive to give the best experience possible to each and every customer that walks through their doors.
"When we hire someone, one of the things that we try to impress the fact that no person is more important than another," Russ says. "We are all equally important, and we have become like a family because of that." He adds, "We could have the best business model in the world, but without the people, it just doesn't work."
Russ focuses on the fact that his core family values translate into the success of his business, but he is quick to say that at the end of the day, it is about more than his personal success. He is in this business to help others, whether they are his customers, employees or members of the community. Russ and his team realize the importance of giving back to the community in which they live and work, which is one of the many reasons McLarty-Daniel Automotive will continue to support community organizations such as the Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation, the American Heart Association's Paint the Town Red gala, the NWA chapter of FCA, and the Bentonville Public School system, just to name a few.In the same way that Russ supports his business family, his wife, Jamie, is an important piece of the puzzle for Russ' success in the automotive business. The Daniels have been married for 11 years and have three children, Cohen, Hutson and Hayes. "I would never have been able to do the things that I do in my business if I didn't have the constant support from my wife," Russ says. "She deserves a medal for keeping our family running smoothly." Everyone in the Daniel family takes an interest in the business, which may someday turn into a new generation of Daniels taking over where their dad leaves off. Jamie takes an interest in helping with the charities the dealerships support as well as the store events. Russ says, "It's not uncommon for me to come home at night to my oldest son asking me how many cars we sold that day. It's kind of funny to hear him talk to me like he's already running the place.
This passion for the business is also evident in every employee that Russ hires. He hopes this passion will allow his team to continue serving the Northwest Arkansas community for years to come. This name change is just one small detail that Daniel hopes will translate into a huge impact on the NWA community in the future, as further expansion will equal more jobs for the community "It's all about the experience at our stores. We take great pride in knowing we offer our customers value added services like complimentary rentals, snacks and beverages, Saturday service, and a lifetime powertrain program on our pre-owned vehicles.
The newest McLarty-Daniel Automotive location, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, opened in 2015 in a state-of-the-art 43,000-square-foot facility on Moberly Lane in Bentonville. Russ and his team also have plans renovate the existing Ford store on Walton Blvd and Nissan store on Moberly Lane in coming months.
