Send off Summer at the Fayetteville Roots Festival

Northwest Arkansas is teeming with culture and what better place to soak it all in than the 2019 Fayetteville Roots Festival? The five-day music, food and arts festival starts August 21 and runs through August 25. 

The Roots Festival was created with the intention of showcasing the deep roots that run through Northwestern Arkansas’s love of music and the literal roots that comprise so many of our favorite dishes. For a full schedule of the Roots Festival, head to their website.

Well-known bands and performers will headline the festival and draw in a crowd that will get to see smaller performers and relatively unknown, local bands. Performing on stages across town, you’ll enjoy bands like St. Paul and the Broken Bones and The Milk Carton Kids, as well as solo performers such as Yola and Darrell Scott. There’s plenty of genre variety to go around at the Roots Festival, as attendees will enjoy the selection of bluegrass, folk, rock and indie rock.

What’s a festival without food? The culinary lineup of the 2019 Roots Festival promises to be a mouthwatering one. Starting with a chef’s dinner at The Hive Hotel, attendees will receive a full-course meal while enjoying art installations and live music. Over fifty chefs will offer tasting stations at the Pratt Place, Thursday, August 22. Interested in learning how to cook, or at least more effectively? Chef’s classes will take place on Friday, August 22. The Jamboree held at Tri-Cycle Farms is the final send-off for the Roots Festival. Enjoy farm animals, savory foods, local beers, live music and family fun on Sunday, August 25.
