Whacky Traffic Laws Nationwide

The Thanksgiving holiday is fast approaching and, along with it, the beginning of the busy holiday travel season. Alabama: It is illegal to drive while blindfolded, though there is nothing mentioned about having your hands tied.

Arkansas: In Little Rock, it is illegal to honk your car horn anywhere that serves cold drinks or sandwiches after 9 p.m, so curb your enthusiasm after receiving your tasty snack.

Georgia: In the city of Marietta, spitting out of your car or a bus is illegal. If you are in a moving truck or riding a bicycle, however, spit away.

Kansas: It’s illegal to transport dead poultry on Kansas Avenue in Topeka. Does that include delicious fried chicken tenders? 

Louisiana: A female driver’s husband is required to wave a flag in front of her car before she can drive it. REALLY?

Mississippi: Do not honk your horn in Oxford, because it’s against the law. No fun!

Missouri: You cannot honk someone else’s horn in University City. Yet you can grab hold of the steering wheel and commandeer the car. 

Oklahoma: It is against the law to read a comic book while driving. The law doesn’t mention newspapers and magazines, however, so we suppose those are fine.

Tennessee: It is illegal to shoot any game other than whales from a moving vehicle. Apparently whales are a nuisance in Tennessee?

Texas: You must have windshield wipers to register a car. The windshield though is optional.
