Rear Cross Path Detection
Expect the Dodge Durango to tow with ease and even beat some sports cars off the line. But if we’re talking reliability, in 2022, it added the safety feature of Rear Cross Path Detection (RCP) that truly sets it apart. Especially when you’re navigating all of the commotion around school parking lots and buildings. The Rear Cross Path feature is intended to aid the driver when backing out of parking spaces where their vision of oncoming vehicles may be blocked. RCP monitors the rear detection zones on both sides of the vehicle for objects that are moving toward the side of the vehicle with a minimum speed of approximately 3 mph to objects moving a maximum of approximately 20 mph, such as in parking lot situations.
How is the driver alerted? When RCP is on, and the vehicle is in reverse, the driver is alerted by both visual and audible alarms, including reducing the radio volume. This is a great way to notify young drivers who usually have music turned up while driving.

Adaptive Cruise Control
The 2023 Dodge Durango allows the driver to set a cruising speed at a safe distance from other vehicles before it automatically adjusts its speed to maintain that distance. This Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) feature is perfect for college students who frequently drive back home on the weekends to see family and friends. Part of this safety system also includes a forward collision warning that alerts the driver if the vehicle in front of the car is too close and includes automatic braking when necessary. And sometimes those weekend drives aren’t necessarily home, but just for fun. ACC allows you to feel safe and secure knowing your driver has these special alerts.

Airbag Protection
Airbags are a safety essential to keep everyone safe in the event of an accident. The Dodge Durango’s airbags are designed to deploy to minimize the risk of injury to occupants. The comprehensive airbag system includes dual-stage front airbags, side-curtain airbags and front-row side airbags. The airbag system is designed to protect occupants from various impacts in a collision, including frontal, side-impact, and rollover accidents. What’s more, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) feature is a critical safety feature that helps the Dodge Durango maintain its grip on the road. It uses sensors to detect when the vehicle is veering off its intended path, such as when it oversteers or understeers when navigating a turn.
